Raising & Giving (RAG)
A message from your RAG officers...
We are your 2018 RAG Officers and we would love more of you to get involved in such an important and rewarding part of uni and college life. College RAG – Raising & Giving – is a way of getting Langwith students, staff and members of the public to engage in fun activities and events to raise money for our chosen charity, York Neighbours. York Neighbours helps to reduce isolation and enable independence among people over 65 in our local area.
A large proportion of RAG- related events take place during university wide RAG week in the Autumn term, however we also regularly run events for everyone such as RAG Pub Golf, Karaoke, Bingo and the summer fete to try and raise as much money as possible! Our events are also a perfect time to relax with friends and flatmates. Nevertheless, you can get involved and do something yourself for RAG – it can be something we have never done before (or something mega obscure or wacky), however big or small, just get in touch, let us know your idea and we can help you organise it!
Hope to see you all getting involved soon,
Your RAG officers, Ruth and Georgia x

Our Charity for 2018
All of our proceeds from RAG events go to the charity York Neighbours which supports older people in the York area to keep their independence. Volunteers help with odd-jobs such as changing a lightbulb, taking an older person out shopping or for a day out, or can even just be available for a weekly chat over the phone. All the money we raise goes towards supporting older people who just need a bit of extra help from a friendly face in the local community.
